I love the allium family, it's full of beautifully structured plants that look great even when they've past their perfect blooms.

As a result I have planted alliums all over the garden, including a lot of Allium hollandicum 'Purple Sensation'.

This is one, just starting to open up now that it's had a bit of sun, combined with a great opportunity to test out a new macro lens.
