I confess, I'd never seen a Witch Hazel in flower before, so the visit to Westonbirt Arboretum turned out to be quite a treat.

Sadly it was a little breezy, so I have resorted to a more shallow depth of field abstract rather than a detailed image of the flowers, but I quite like the abstract look.

For the botanists out there, this is an Hamamelis x intermedia 'Diana', a Hybrid Witch Hazel.
